Our Executives
Laust was born to grow—after completing his degree in horticulture, he ran his family’s greenhouse farm in Denmark. Laust advised for the greenhouse industry in Europe and North America, becoming a world-renowned crop consultant. Now, with over 33 years of experience in the vegetable and cannabis greenhouse industries, he is excited to implement that experience at Medisun. With his expertise and the latest technologies, he will grow the healthiest crops in the industry in the most sustainable way. Laust is excited for the challenge ahead, and welcomes the opportunity to work with a winning team.
Steve Collin has been the Controller of Medisun since October 2019, responsible all accounting, budgetary, reporting, and treasury activities. Steve has worked across several industries, including serving as Canadian Controller for Michael Page International, and Corporate Controller for FrontStream Inc. Steve has extensive operational experience streamlining process and increasing both efficiency and effectiveness in various functional areas. Additionally, Steve has extensive change management experience, undergoing several operation pivots during his career and adopting to new operational models to support future growth. Steve is also a retired professional skydiver, with an Ohio State record, and a Canadian national record. Steve is also a former national skydiving competitor. Steve lives in Chatham Ontario with his wife and twin boys. Steve has his Bachelor of Commerce and Masters of Business Administration from Thompson Rivers University.
Jessica is first and foremost a people person. Her background in Community and Social Services and Human Resources experience has allowed Jess to develop expertise in managing performance, organizational development, recruitment and on-boarding, as well as change management.
Jessica is a results oriented individual who is passionate about facilitating positive change while working with and mentoring teams.
Experienced in creating and fostering high-level employee engagement, Jess thoroughly enjoys collaborating with leaders to engage our workforce through meaningful continuous improvement initiatives and strategic planning.
In her free time, Jessica can be found cheering on her kids in any number of endeavours, or enjoying quality time on the water with her friends and family.
Oliver has been the General Counsel of Medisun since May 2020. He is responsible for managing company-wide legal and compliance needs. Oliver also oversees Medisun’s relationships with government and regulators.
Prior to joining Medisun, Oliver worked as legal counsel for Shoppers Drug Mart, Canada’s largest pharmacy operator. At Shoppers, Oliver gained considerable expertise in the cannabis industry as he worked closely with the team responsible for launching and managing Shoppers’ medical cannabis business across Canada. Oliver also supported Loblaw Companies Limited’s (Shoppers’ parent-company) entrance into the non-medical cannabis market.
Oliver is passionate about the regulation of the Canadian cannabis industry. He believes that Canada has the opportunity to lead development of the global cannabis industry, and that this can only be achieved if domestic operators are positioned to succeed.
